Antique Lighting
I consider myself to be lucky because I live in a period property that has retained many of its original features. The house was built in 1900 and although it isn`t a shrine to that period in time it still has a number of fine features that have remained with it throughout its life. In the lounge and dining room we inherited a selection of Antique Lighting from the home`s previous owner. They left us with ceiling lights, the age of which I`m not too sure, but I`m guessing they are either from the late Victorian or early Edwardian period. Each one of the ceiling lights looks fabulous when it is lit and the one in the dining room is positioned right over the table so it cascades light down onto diners when we have guests over for dinner. Such is the effect that the Antique Lighting has had on me I`m looking for a traditional lantern that I can fit to the ceiling in the hallway. I don`t want to overdo the conventional feel of the property because we have plenty of contemporary fixtures and fittings as well. However, I like the fact that the home has a long-established feel to it whilst incorporating a subtle modernistic twist at the same time. Therefore additional Antique Lighting in the hallway will still be in accordance with the theme.
